Ever since I read the first book of the series, I decided I had to finish it, although, to tell the truth, it's a bit too dark for my tastes. We see Rayah', living in a very harsh an unfogiving society, developing and becoming a very strong character. Soren is the likable and exceptional guy trying to be always at her side, and Artemis is the villain who does his utmost to browbeat and intimidate her and keep her stunted. The most intriguing character so far is Psycho who is a blend of conflicting characteristics, while the rest of the cast contribute their share to help Rayah become the best she can be, with sergeant Falklin being somewhere in the middle pushing her -hopefully- in the right direction without breaking her. The writer weaves a very well-crafted story: It is intense, gripping and memorable. Make sure you read it. As for myself, I' m looking forward to the next book in the story. I hope, it won't take the writer too long to produce it.
