After reading the first book of this series, I am hooked. This author’s style of writing is brilliant. There are many circumstances that pull you into the life of Rayah, and what it is like to be part of an academy for Lighters, children and people who can create light energy. Only problem is that Rayah has not been able to access the power within her. She has only til her 20th birthday to produce light energy, and if not, then slavery to an Elite is in the future. There is one elite member that has his eye on her, and demands extra punishment for any wrongdoing. That being said, he makes her life miserable and at the bottom of her class, worthless, so she thinks. But there is a bright future building within her. Join Rayah as she survives being bullied, tormented and cast aside by most, until one night when she wakes up in a different place full of free people.
