This book is not for the faint of heart. The Author has created a world with Magical Gods who think only of themselves and what they want and manipulate their creations for their own enjoyment. The people they have created can be as cruel to each other as their Gods and use the magic they get as they age to try to hurt each other before they are hurt. But in the me of all this pain and suffering you have some of them who are trying to help each other. Even in her own nightmare of pain and suffering one person is trying to be that person if she can tap into her magic and bring it out even though a cruel monster of a man has inflicted pain and fear to suppress her magic since she was a little girl. Great character building and very believable world. Looking forward to the next book in the series.
